What’s the population of the country?  Compare this to the population of the US
The population of China is approximately 1.357 billion people. (World Bank, United States Census Bureau) That is not even half of the population of the United States which is about 318,860,032. I was completely shocked when I saw the number of China's population. I had to do some extra research because that number seemed unbelievable and I thought the United States might have been closer to that number. Most of the people in China live in less than 40% of the land. (University of Washington)The majority of the people have moved from the rural areas onto the urban cities. Most of the urbanized areas are located on the west and south-west area of China. The population in Beijing, China is 21.5 million as of 2014. (World Population Review) The population in Hailar is about 256,000 which is a dramatic low from the population in Beijing. (China DIY Tours) Hailar is only about 1,910 km away from Beijing and it's population is surprisingly low. (Google Maps)

What types of agriculture do they have and what type of diet do they have?
China's agriculture consists of wheat, rice, potatoes, peanuts, millet, cotton, and a few other crops. (Economy Watch)China has a diet of a source of carbohydrate or starch like rice, noodles, or steamed buns, along with a side of vegetables, fish, or meat. (The Cutural Heritage of China)

Are industry and tourism related to geography and climate?
Industry and tourism are related to the geography and climate in a significant way because it just makes people want to visit these remote and unique locations that are not found in any other country. As I was doing my research for the Geography page on my blog, As I was beginning my information on the climate of China, I was beginning to pack my suitcase because I was ready to just fly out and see what I've only seen on the internet. People want to visit the historic sites that are still standing like the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City. People want to go up the mountains that contain historic buildings that have been standing for hundreds of years at the tops of the mountains. There are many stories about the emperors that lived at the top of some of those locations and there are many stories about ponds that make you young if you swim in them. China's climate is usually cold for the most part other than some areas where it does get hot. People would like to go to China to experience the chilly and rainy days if all they see year long is hot sunny days.

Are there any notable historical events that add to the climate/culture story?
It is pretty noticeable that the temperatures have been getting warmer every year due to environmental pollution in the atmosphere and China plays a great part in being a contributor to emissions in the air. The China Meteorological Administration (CMA) stated that over the past century (1908-2007) the average temperature of the earth's surface in China has risen by 1.1 degrees Celsius. (Wilson Center) Over this last century, China has experienced approximately 27 warm winters. As the climate is changing, the animals that are native to this region are having a hard time adapting. China's surface temperature has been increasing at a significantly greater temperature rise than the global average. The global average surface temperature is an increase of 0.3-0.6 degrees Celsius meanwhile China's increase is 0.5-0.8 degrees Celsius. These numbers may look really small but any little change is bad for the environment. (Wilson Center)
